December 2 sees a grand opening of the Forum on Reform and Development for HFU’s 40th anniversary at campus, which is presided by Wang Qidong, Chair of HFU Council.

Yu Aihua, Secretary of Hefei Municipal Party Committee, extends his congratulations to all the staff, students and alumni at home and abroad on behalf of Hefei Municipal Government. He says that over the past 40 years, Hefei University has always adhered to its guideline of “Localization, Application, and Internalization”.

In her speech, extending a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the guests and alumni at home and abroad on behalf of the university, HFU President Wu Chunmei reviews the university history and its achievements. She says that Hefei University, standing at a new starting point in the era of innovation, will strive to construct it into a high-level applied university.

Extending his congratulations, Mr. Yi Tangming, Consul General of German Consulate General in Shanghai, points out that as a pioneer of China's applied higher education, Hefei University has excelled in the field of scientific research, and hopes that it will continue to promote multidisciplinary and multilevel Sino-German cooperation.

A number of foreign guests extend their congratulations and sincere hope for the promising future of the university through video, including Christian Wulff, former President of Germany and Chairman of the Global Alliance of SMEs, Dr. Alexander Badrow, Mayor of Stralsund, Li Quan, President of Mingchuan Global Education System, Professor Kathy Mitchell, President of University of Derby, Mr.Sar Sokha, Secretary of State of Cambodia, and Caesar Flores, Vice President of International Affairs of Northern Arizona University and Professor Ding Yongjian, Vice President of Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences.

After the forum, a performance for the anniversary is held.
